Mindful Monday: New Elevation, New Perspiration

  • by

Labor or Labour (to be fancy, English and posh pinky pointed up – also my best Dr. Evil face😉😄) is often associated with physical exertion but mental and emotional exertion can be workouts of their own. As some of you know I’m getting back into Martial arts and Breaking or, Kyukpa. The Art of Breaking to me means a lot of breaking down while also building up on all levels internally and externally. I’m finding it especially laborious presently as breaking things outward is also analogous with inward. One step at a time. One break at a time. One technique at a time. Just like it’s important to be taught by and train with persons who have actual experience, and not these know nothing buttheads who hammer it online only and not hone in skill and technique, it’s also important to assess and learn how to break into our emotions and wellbeing; trained vs untrained. I’ve been learning there are certain aspects relating to intimacy (in-to-me-see per Iyanla Vanzant) that I have challenges with. If you’ve had or been around certain types of violence and other abuses, especially from childhood, chances are you haven’t been taught some of these things in healthy ways and as a result, survival skills and/or dysfunctional coping mechanisms are there. From anger, isolation, victimization, complacency, and on, men, woman, non-binary identified included, the struggle is real in breaking into these types of awareness and then, learning the how and what to do with these knowledge points in healthy ways. What is your break into better? This labor of love will not only help you, but be a blessing to those around you. Breathe. Believe and Break! One step at a time. One break at a time. One technique at a time.🚶🏾‍♀️ Live Well. Do Well. Be Well 💜
