Almost in Month Three of 2021, how’s it going? On this last Monday of this month, I was thinking about the stories we craft, cling to and continue to ‘house’ in our lives for the sake of familiarity. Even with the best intended plans, things can go awry. We can get stuck in the what was, what we want it and thought it should look like, halting progress from moving forward. Sometimes things just don’t work out according to our plan and that’s okay. Annoying at times, but okay. You may need to take a breath, perhaps a new approach and that’s okay. But getting stuck in the pain and not moving forward eventually? Not okay. Redirection can be a blessing sometimes. The initial Washington D.C. development under the L’Enfant Plan shifted and was completed by African-American mathematician, Benjamin Bannekar (an interesting blog in greater detail is below). Looking to other solutions and resources is hugely important. We are the architects of our lives. Calculate, scaffold and build accordingly and authentically💜
