Mindful Monday: Restoration

  • by

Restoration – I’ve been told by many I have a calming presence and nature. I know this to be true and believe this is one of the reasons people like sharing space with and being around me. Sometimes though, like the last month, that peace within hasn’t been the easist to find. Great things like school, writing, upcoming projects have kept me busy. Seeking funding, specifcally annoyance about approved funding that hasn’t come in yet has been stressful. And a recent death of someone in a program I work has been especially difficult. A few co-wokers turned friends and I spoke a few days ago and we are raw with feelings of anger, sadness, disbelief and grief. The last two days I’ve taken to sleep, rest and recalibrate. Reaching out to specific friends. Reading. Being near and in water. Sleeping. These are just some things I’ve done and they’ve been helpful, especially the sleep. We can’t stop certain things from happening and of course our attitude is important. And it’s also important to care for yourself so it’s possible to have a good attitude in which to work things out in a healthy and peaceful way. 💌
