Evolution is often solely segmented to scientific spaces but evolving is essentially growth. Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no real meaning or value. Growth is the only evidence of life. Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together. Emotional, Spiritual and Mental evolution is as important as Physical because the decision to do (or not do) anything begins in our hearts and minds, manifesting through our actions. In John 5:6, Jesus asks someone, “Do you want to be well?” I’ve heard many preachers and teachers deconstruct this but I think allowing simplicity to lead the validity of the question is powerful. Identifying what you want and where you are, being honest about that makes way for opportunities of growth. You have to know where you are, in this case unwell, and then admit that you’re unwell. That doesn’t mean the evolution stops there. This type of identity recognition and accountability is difficult because subsequently, after identifying this thr next course of action is what are you going to do about it? Do you want to do things differently, to be better, to be well? There is an evolution of thought within these questions but it also comes back to choices and decision making, and often people have made the decision to blame and curate excuses as opposed to growing into a better version of themselves. Familiarity within patterns of pain doesn’t promote healing, but begats more of the same. A couple of conversations with friends last night aligned this additional thought within evolutionary growth: being cognizant of where you’re going while healing and evolving is hugely important. In order to heal from being unwell, the question of how bad do you want it to evolve to a better state is necessary, honest, difficult at times, deliberate and, doable. Sustainable development is the pathway to the future we want for all. Live Well. Do Well. Be Well 💜
